Owen Concannon

Director of Managed Accounts and Alternatives

As director of managed accounts and alternatives at Financial Research Corporation (FRC), Owen is responsible for overseeing research and consulting efforts in the separately managed account and alternative product areas. Owen engages in the analysis of trends within the financial services industry while serving as the primary contact person for many of FRC's largest clients. He regularly contributes articles to FRC’s suite of research publications and supports numerous FRC consulting engagements. He also serves as editor of the monthly FRC Alternative Products Views on the News and the FRC Separately Managed Accounts Views on the News.

In his previous role as a senior research analyst at FRC, Owen was one of the primary authors of the FRC study World of Opportunity in International Funds: Changes in Advisor Usage of International Products, as well as a contributing author to Advisor Insights: Wholesaler Effectiveness. Owen has in-depth knowledge of retail investment products (SMAs, funds, ETFs) and is often quoted in the press on topics related to product management and marketing.

Additionally, Owen provides oversight of FRC’s intern development program, a long-standing program that offers university students an opportunity to gain applicable and objective knowledge of the retail investment management industry.

Owen has been with FRC since 2002. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in economics and international relations from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. He is a Level II candidate in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program.
