Brian Boswell

Research Analyst

Brian is a research analyst at FRC specializing in educational savings research. He is responsible for developing and overseeing all FRC products and services related to college savings plans. In addition, Brian supports FRC’s research team in the analysis of financial service industry trends, and is the primary contact for multiple FRC clients.

Brian has authored numerous publications for FRC on the college savings marketplace, including Factors Driving 529 Plan Asset Growth, Opportunities in 529 Plan Contract Expirations, 529 Plan Legislative Update and Outlook. He also manages production of the 529 Quarterly Update, as well as the monthly 529 Views on the News. Additionally, Brian is a regular contributor to FRC’s suite of publications, and assists FRC Subject Matter Experts with advanced analytical research and consulting projects.

Brian is FRC’s media relations contact for college savings plans, and is frequently quoted in leading publications including The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, Investor’s Business Daily, MarketWatch, Business Week, Registered Rep, and Ignites, among others. He has also been an invited speaker at several industry conferences, including the 529 Technical Conference (2005 and 2006) and the College Savings Foundation Forum (2006).

Prior to joining FRC, Brian served as an investment analyst for The Ayco Company, LLC, an affiliate of Goldman Sachs & Co. and a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. He has over four years of financial services industry experience.

Brian received a Bachelor of Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He holds NASD Series 7 and Series 63 licenses.
